Farm Journal Foundation Names Bob Trogele to Board of Directors
Washington, D.C. – (September 10, 2020) – Andy Weber, Farm Journal CEO and Chairman of the Farm Journal Foundation Board of Directors, recently announced that Bob Trogele, chief operating officer and executive vice president of AMVAC Chemical Corporation, has been named to the Foundation’s Board of Directors.
Trogele is recognized as a transformational leader in international agribusiness. A crop protection industry veteran, Trogele served in leadership positions at FMC, Hoechst, Bayer and Schering prior to joining AMVAC.
Prior to his business career, Trogele earned acclaim as a college basketball athlete. Following college, he became a two-time Olympian, as a member of the German national basketball team, and pursued a career in professional basketball before earning a Ph.D. and launching a career in the crop protection industry.
“Bob brings a strong international perspective and deep understanding of global agriculture that will help us advance the Foundation’s mission of achieving global food security by sustaining modern agriculture’s leadership role and ability to meet the vital needs of a growing population,” said Weber. “I’ve known Bob for more than 10 years. He’s a thought leader and is passionate about agriculture and feeding the world. We are thrilled he has joined the Farm Journal Foundation Board.”
Trogele also serves the agriculture industry as a board member of the Agricultural Retailers Association (ARA) and the CropLife Foundation. He is an independent board director for Clean Seed Capital Group.

With the addition of Trogele, the Farm Journal Foundation Board of Directors includes Board Chairman Andy Weber; Farm Journal President Charlene Finck, board president; Gregg Halverson, CEO, Black Gold Farms; and Lyle Orwig, chairman, Charleston|Orwig. Jay Vroom, chairman, board of advisors, Farm Journal Trust in Food and America’s Conservation Agriculture Movement, serves as strategic advisor to the board.
