IN-STATE
POLICY EVENTS

Every year, Farm Journal Foundation hosts events with members of Congress in their home states, showcasing the real world, local impact of agricultural research and innovation, and connecting that impact globally. These events usually include tours of Farmer Ambassadors' farms or research facilities at universities where cutting-edge discoveries are being made, and they often include participation from agricultural industry leaders, farmers, educators, and members of local communities. Often, our in-state events reinforce conversations started at our Washington, D.C., fly-in meetings, creating an opportunity for deliberate, one-on-one conversations with policymakers in their home settings.

HOW IT WORKS

In-state policy events bring together members of Congress and local agricultural leaders, usually on the site of a Farmer Ambassador's operation or at a university’s agricultural school. Throughout the tour, participants discuss topics such as sustainability and conservation, animal health, agricultural research and development, and agricultural policy initiatives that promote farm and community growth.
