Our Illinois, Lead Farmer Heather Hampton+Knodle joined Senator Dick Durbin & Foundation for Food and Agriculture Research at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign to tour Realizing Increased Photosynthetic Efficiency (RIPE) labs to learn more about their work improving photosynthesis in order to increase yields and ensure global food security.

Senator Sanford Bishop joined professors in a tour of Fort Valley State University Ag Research Center and participated in a panel discussion addressing global food security and the vital role of agriculture research.
